No.5967

The album came out, and I consider it a great success, but that's no reason for us to stop making music for the people. Thus, I have created a thread we can use to share little tid-bits of music. To launch the thread, I have placed relatively no effort into producing a Noise track with the most descriptive title in history.

This is the scrapped 1st version of the first track "hello". Same concept, uses the same VIPPER's vocal sample, but a completely different composition that went nowhere and felt too long.

I had the intention of doing something in Adlib Tracker II for the album, but I got too lazy to finish.

BENOIST-san, did Sky High disappear?

>> No.5983

>>5982
Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: I couldn't reproduce the main keyboard parts to my liking, so I put out a request for them, but no one obliged. From there, I pretty much lost hope of completing it. I might still do it, though, given the time and resources.

I thought of doing a Songsmithing-quality backing for the acapella so it wouldn't be "wasted" but thought you might have worked out something in private, and didn't have the time anyway, so I didn't.
I had a completely unrelated plan to make a stupid song made only from loops from racing games on SEGA hardware (Daytona, Outrun, Road Avenger....), but the song (or more like the collection of samples and REX loops I made) was not good enough to release. Since it looks like people are enthusiastic about a 2nd release, I might use it to finish that track if you're OK with that.

>> No.5988

>>5987
Yeah, I was busy shitting out aborted original tracks. I probably have enough material to make an EP...

Sounds better than the IDM/Breakcore/Lolicore remix I was going to do for Sky High. Maybe I could still contribute some VIP Quality-ish beats/vocals?

I don't think there was any need to remind you again, but you're free to reuse my voice for whatever you wish most (if you don't find it too horrible.)

As per the new project, I'm starting developing some slow electronica parts for a full song with lyrics. I need a decent microphone to make it work though.

I did another ringtone too, but I won't reveal which.

>> No.5996

Well, if someone did a MANLY a capella of the theme song of Road Avenger, I'd totally give it the backing it deserves. (However be warned that no matter what sort of stuff I try to do my work always end up being best classified as belonging to the extremely cool and legit genre of "trancey progressive candy synthpop").

Since we're starting another project, when posting music, make sure to always mention whether it's an album submission or not you're posting, and if a final album submission, send ZIP or RAR'd MP3 and not OGGs. Thanks!

dear >>7787-san,

I'm the creator of the melody, so I wish I could have an MP3 version of your remix to put on the upcoming Homegrown VIPtronic Album. I was also inclined to use the International VIPMusic Committee as author name for your work.

If you're ok with these resolutions, please upload an mp3 version anywhere, or send it to the dqn.dqn.lol@gmail.com address.

Best regards~

I made a new introduction for VIPTRONIC 2.
Given that it was only my second time using a tracker, it turned out much less trainwrecky than I feared.
I'm using TFM Music Maker and patches ripped from Mega Drive games. (Links: http://shiru.untergrund.net/software.shtml - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=277864 - VOPM VST setup also possible)

You might want to look up "A Guy Called Gerald", I sampled one of his tracks in that song. In case you didn't know, the style is called oldschool jungle. It is quite a VIP genre. Good luck!

The Amen Break is indeed the epitome of VIP. For it is the father-beat of Jungle, a most VIP style of music.
