I never found a chainsaw when I was in Sector C. I'm upset. That whole sector was fucked up.

I was under the impression treasure chests were non-random. Good to know that the game has ever more ways of fucking me over than I expected. A nice one was the random Angel SM dialog that left my Victor Vipper at 1 HP, good times.
If it's anything like other SMT games, I bet the chest contents will be related to the current moon cycle.I have held off on getting this game because I know it would distract me from my current class, but I'm really tempted...

Wait, is it already out? Why didn't anyone tell me?

I kind of feel like this game happened as follows:Atlus: Hello John Foreigner-san, what sort of games do they like in the USA?Foreigner: We totally love cold dehumanized soldiers following orders because war is totally awesome. Reference: half of all the X360 games. Atlus: Sounds exciting. What about Europe?Foreigner: It's a nice country, I'd like to visit it once I have kids. Atlus: Ok, SMT team, you have clearance to use our 3-year-old engine and your 18-year-old assets. The story should be very cold and the characters must behave like military robots and the protagonist should vaguely resemble the French president. SMT Team: Cold robots? Then how about we make it happen at the south pole and the military take their orders from an AI?Atlus: Awesome! We're totally gonna earn mad coin in the export market. You have three months. Well, still a good game despite that, actually.

>>7722Yeah, Japan really overdoes it whenever they feel the need to APPEAL TO FOREIGN MARKETS.
also: surprise guest appearance later on.
>>7722But Megaten stories are naturally cold and pessimistic,

>>7729When does Nipland ever care about foreign sales?
>>7733That's my first one in the main series, but I find the characterization really weak compared to DDS, DS, and P3&4. Like, I don't expect to learn anything about the two obvious-alignement-last-quest-giving characters. It feels kind of like Mass Effect 1: they want to tell a good story, but every character is a soldier or a scientist, so they just don't get to.
>>7736Since they stopped having the upper hand at technology.Atlus USA is pretty good at making niche games profitable. See how they added the SMT name in P3 and P4 (it was not mentioned in Japland), it's clear they plan to make SMT into a strong international franchise. Good for us.
With the high cost of modern video game development it is vital that Japanese developers attempt to appeal to foreign markets or they will cease to exist.
What game is this please and thankyou
